Ammonia Synthesis
Electrochemical Nitrogen Reduction (NRR)
Our ammonia synthesis research focuses on electrochemical nitrogen reduction (NRR) as a sustainable alternative to the conventional Haber-Bosch process.
Research Focus
We develop and test novel catalyst materials that enable nitrogen activation and conversion to ammonia under mild operating conditions. Experimental validation is carried out using both H-cell and flow-cell configurations, ensuring flexibility in research and scalability.
The goal is to achieve efficient ammonia production while reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions associated with traditional methods.
Key Research Areas
- Catalyst synthesis for nitrogen reduction
- Electrochemical testing in H-cell and flow systems
- Optimization of reaction pathways for improved ammonia yield
- Integration with compact electrochemical devices
